You can add embed an URL into an assignment that takes students to an external website.
- Click manage courses
- Click the name of the course
- Click manage course elements
- Click add an assignment
- Enter the title
- Enter the text you would like to make a URL link and then highlight it.
- Click the insert/edit link button:
- Paste or type the URL, select the target, click insert and save the assignment:
