You can add slides to a chalkboard by creating them, or by uploading them. You can create slides using the DigitalChalk Slide Editor or using an external slide editor.  You can upload slides to the chalkboard as images, zip files or PowerPoint™. 

 

Before you add slides to a chalkboard, you must add a media file (either audio or video) to create a chalkboard timeline.  For more information, see Adding media to a chalkboard. 


 To upload or create slides:

  • Click the Manage Courses tab, then click on the name of the course.
  • The Edit Course Details Window is displayed with a task list.
  • Click Manage Course Elements from the task list.




  • The Elements list for this course is displayed.
  • Click on the name of the chalkboard element.  The Edit Element Details window is displayed with a task list.
  • Click Edit Chalkboard from the list.  

 


  • The chalkboard is displayed.
  • Click Manage Slides at the top of the chalkboard editor.  The Slides view for the chalkboard is displayed.


  • Click the "+" icon.  A list of of the ways you can upload or create slides is displayed. If you are creating slides from an external site or uploading slides,  DigitalChalk currently supports the following image file types for slides; .PNG, .JPG, .JPEG, .GIF, .BMP


To create a slide using the Slide Editor;
  • Click Create a new slide using the Slide Editor.  


  • The Create Slide window is displayed.
  • Enter the information for the slide, then click the Save button.


  • The Slides view of the chalkboard is displayed with the slide you created.


  
To create a slide from an external site;
  • Click the Create a slide from an external site.  
  • Enter the information for the slide in the fields that are displayed, and click the Save button.


  • The Slides view of the Chalkboard is displayed with the slide(s) you created.

To upload slides as images, zip files, or PowerPoint™:
  • Click Upload slides as images, zip files, or PowerPoint™. . 
  • Choose File within the File field.  Your file selection window is displayed.  
  • Select the file you want to upload and click the Upload button. 



  • The Slides view of the Chalkboard is displayed with the slide(s) you created.
