There are 2 ways to score a multiple choice question; you can choose an All or Nothing strategy or you can choose a Partial Credit strategy.

  • All or Nothing  -  This grading strategy assigns the provided point value if ALL the correct answers are chosen (and NONE of the incorrect answers are chosen).
    • Example: Your question has 3 correct answer values and 1 incorrect answer value. The student must select all three of the correct answers values, and only these values, to receive credit for the question.
  • Partial Credit  -  This grading style assigns the provided point value for EACH correct answer that is chosen.
    • Example:  Your question has 3 correct answer values and 1 incorrect answer value. You will assign a point value to each correct answer value. In this case, if you assign a point value of "1" to each correct answer value your total possible points for that question will be "3", one for each of the three correct answer values. If the student selects only one of the correct answer values they will receive one point out of 3 possible points. If the student selects all three of the correct answer values they will receive all three available points.
